Racial/Social/Economic JusticeThe City of Syracuse is rich in ethnic and racial diversity and this source of pride should be embraced by all residents. Fostering communitywide acceptance of differences is critical to our City's capacity to grow in all areas. From economic development to educational opportunities, inclusiveness and understanding are key in the support of our minority communities. Efforts to support business development can be linked to diversity initiatives. City hiring should be reflective of the city population and active recruitment will be taken to ensure the best candidates of all races and ethnicities are made aware of opportunities. This can be done by offering fair wages, by bolstering the city's job training efforts and changing how we advertise job openings. Changes in our Justice system can be made so that all members of our community are treated fairly and equitably. |
